In the following pages I tell the story of Brideshead Revisited in a simple way. The site is aimed at new readers. I think that this new site is an apt place to put some illustrations. Some of them, but not all, are publicity photos taken for the TV production. Please remember that illustrations take longer to download than text, and as these illustrations are generally of good quality, they take even longer than usual.
A NOTE ON THE MUSIC : If you are hearing music while looking at this page, you are listening to the opening bars of the main theme of Geoffrey Burgons incidental music to the television production. This music is among the most evocative and beautiful ever written for the screen. There used to be a CD of it - EMI Music for Pleasure 0946 3 21367 2 5 - which was generally available some years ago (its cover is represented below and it may still be obtainable from the Castle Howard shop), but at the moment I regret to say that the disc seems to be generally unavailable. If I find out differently, I shall put a link here.

A selection of Geoffrey Burgons music written for TV series has appeared on Silva Screen FILMCD723. It is medium price (£8.95 in Britain) and includes selections of his music for Brideshead Revisited, Testament of Youth, Bleak House, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and The Chronicles of Narnia. You may order this CD from Silva Screen themselves. It does not appear to be available at the moment in the United States.
